Careers in Textiles: Open Portfolio Presenter Registration

Open Portfolio is designed to provide constructive feedback to new and established fiber artists looking to grow their skills while serving as a learning opportunity for observers. Each participant will meet with three professional fiber artists to critique and discuss their portfolio.

In a session conducted via Zoom, each participant (reviewee) will meet with a panel of 3 reviewers. The reviewee will have up to 5 minutes to open the conversation and introduce their work. The panel will then have up to 15 minutes to share their thoughts.

Reviewees will submit portfolios/work images in advance. Complete instructions will be provided in your registration confirmation email.

Images of your work should be submitted in JPEG format using the maximum quality setting with at least 300dpi.
Reviewees should include information on who they are, their techniques, their ideas, their career objectives. Are your goals more production oriented or directed to artistic production?
- This additional information should be submitted via a Word document, PDF file, or similar format.
Your portfolio should be well-suited for your objective and not just a collection of the work you have completed.

Reviewers will be asked to share their perspective on the Reviewee's work. Reviewers will comment on the participant’s strengths and offer recommendations for improvement.

Open Portfolio will be open to spectators (individuals can register to view the portfolio reviews) as we believe that everyone learns from other people’s work and critiques.

Registration fees are non-refundable. Registration closes Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 11 PM (EST). Once registration closes, you will be assigned to a time slot for your review. On the registration form, please mark all of the times you are available.
