Description of Services/Program (max 1,024 characters):
The introduction of rhythm, color, and linear stratification in the drawings and paintings of Bauhaus artist Paul Klee lends itself to tapestry techniques. Quite specific use of Gestalt forms – especially in his later work – makes it possible for teachers to offer a type of sequential learning based on Klee’s life in art that point them towards potential careers in science, technology and the humanities. Through the production of small tapestries for use in online STEM workshops, I am currently exploring the Gestalt origins of many of Bauhaus artist Paul Klee's works. Most recently, I presented an online workshop on The Mathematics of Paul Klee's Art at the annual meeting of Sigma Xi, national scientific honorary society (Nov. 2021), aimed at suggesting an art history curriculum for attracting students to careers in science and technology as well as the humanities.
